Same issue as the U.S. version. Maybe Riggles or ateam can do something here. Might as well make all 3 regions RGB compatible, yes?fernan1234 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 8:03 am Just heard about this new patch. Great to know SoA is being expanded after all these years. Does anyone know if there is a patch available to do something slightly similar: patching the Japanese/NTSC-J version to run in RGB SCART (480i) mode? If now, maybe this patch could be a stepping stone.
As is, the NTSC-J version forces 480p when using an RGB cable, even with modified pins to force SD modes in most other games, so the only current way to play the Japanese release on SD CRTs is using S-video or composite. It would be awesome to make it possible to play on SD-only RGB monitors.

Why is it restoring censorship? I assume the uncensored version is the Japanese release so personally I'd prefer to have the QoL version with Japanese voices and no censorship.Riggles wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 6:56 pm Skye from the Skies of Arcadia discord is working on a big QoL improvement hack based on this
release, if you're on the fence on playing the game, consider waiting for it.
It'll both restore censorship and re-balance things like the notoriously high encounter rate,
restoring the website function and touching up various other aspects of game.

Amazing, but is not really clear to me. The undub and un-censorship will be released? Or this patch can be applied on the undub one?

Re: Skies of Arcadia - Perfect 60Hz RGB+VGA (Desync Fix) Patch RELEASE
I have a silly, specific question while SoA modding is on the mind... If anyone familiar with how SoA works wouldn't mind taking a moment to chime in with their guess, I'd appreciate it.
I love the move Vigoro's Charm where he says "Hey, Baby!" It's hilarious, and I wish I could do the move myself...which got me thinking. Would it be possible to swap one of the player's S.Moves for 'Vigoro's Charm'?
I suspect 'no' given my knowledge of this stuff. Way back in the day, I was part of the Smackdown 2 hacking scene. Endless hours of my life were happily spent typing-in gigantic Gameshark codes, searching for addresses/values, etc.
It was possible to create new moves by hacking together existing animations, but with a (big) catch: It only worked if all those animations were loaded into RAM when the match started (as in, every move used needed to be in one of the active wrestler's move list). Otherwise, as soon as it'd attempt to load the missing animation, that character would freeze in place- even in midair. The game didn't freeze, but it was impossible to knock that character back into position so all you could do was quit out.
I imagine this would be similar - 'Vigoro's Charm' only gets put into RAM when Vigoro is in the battle, and attempting to call it otherwise would freeze the game.

What order do I do the patches in? I have:
RGB 60 + Walking Speed + Half Encounter rate
Japanese voices + English text + uncensored

Re: Skies of Arcadia - Perfect 60Hz RGB+VGA (Desync Fix) Patch RELEASE
Update: I tried using DC universal patcher to patch the uncensored undub and it said missing IP.bin file in the temp folder so I used the disc1.gdi file on the extractor tool inside the DC universal patcher tools folder and generated the IP.bin file myself. From there I copied the file and tried to patch the game again and when it created the extraction folder in the temp folder I quickly pasted the IP.bin file into it and the patcher continued to run but then it crashed at a later point saying the patch was trying to modify files that were missing.
Doesn't feel like it is possible to have both RGB60 and the uncensored undub patches applied. If there is a way I certainly can't figure it out.

You forget the "Hold B to skip encounters" patch (cheat) one to completely avoid encounters during its pressing from this thread:

Re: Skies of Arcadia - Perfect 60Hz RGB+VGA (Desync Fix) Patch RELEASE
If it exists, Would anyone be willing to share a patched version of Skies? Preferably with 60hz, widescreen, VGA for DCdigital, low-encounter, and gdemu compatible?
The copy I have doesn't run on my GDemu (with auto-detect cable setting on DCdigital). I downloaded this to find files I never worked with before.
