Re: GDMENU Card Manager

My only issue is I cannot find a source that will actually boot. I can get GTA3 and Halflife to boot but all of my other games from two sources are just straight to bios. Been trying for 2 days 🤣

Code: Select all

I’m experiencing an issue where GDMenu Card Manager isn’t recognizing my SD card, despite trying multiple troubleshooting steps. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Tried multiple SD cards (formatted to FAT32) and adapters.
Tested on different card readers and USB ports 32 64 and 128GB formatted to exfat.
Verified that the SD card works on other devices and is accessible in File Explorer/Finder.
Ran GDMenu Card Manager as an administrator and non admin, refreshed the drives, and checked settings.
changed drive letter, formatted on a different pc, renamed the volume. (Maybe I should use diskpart... IM gonna try that brb... yeah that didnt work either.
Tested different PCs but the app still fails to detect the SD card.

The kicker is it was just working. Everything was fine I plugged it all in and was transferring games to the SDs, but now I've re-extracted the menu manager re-extracted the games re-extracted everything. When I open the app it just says nothing in the SD drive section. (Despite it being visible in explorer. It also just gives me "ignored files/folders" everything I try to drop in there. I am so at a loss.

Despite these efforts, GDMenu Card Manager won’t recognize the SD card at all. Are there known issues or additional steps I can try to resolve this?

Thank you :D

NVM I think I figured it out. It does not recognize exfat. My sd card came out of another device that must have done the janky force fat32 trick that is all the rage these days so it was compat out of the box but once I formatted it it was like persona non grata. So yeah fat32 needs to be manually forced with some app like GUI Format if you intend to use disks above the 32gb limit.

Just a heads up that "Bust-A-Move 4 v1.001 (2000)(Acclaim)(PAL)[!]" on shrinked mode doesn't work (needs to be fully GDI size) and should be blacklisted (when selected the shrink mode).

It is not recommended to shrink games. It typically causes problems. If you want hassle free, don't shrink

Get a bigger SD card, they are pretty cheap these days
