Would be awesome if they added an easy mode, I really wanted to get through the first game but sadly lacked the skill to see it all .
Are you a backer? If so, you could always make that suggestion to the developer in the Comments section of the Kickstarter page.
According to that page, this time around we'll see this new aspect that'll make the game a bit easier:
"No Time Limit: Explore and conquer at your own pace without the pressure of a ticking clock."
I am indeed a backer, I’ll head there and suggest it
ShadowTeam has posted an update for the upcoming Shinobi-inspired game Shadow Gangs Zero. The first bit of news is that the graphics development is coming along very nicely. The second major takeaway is that porting from the lead system Neo Geo to the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive has now begun.
Expect the porting to Dreamcast to follow suit in a few months!
Ninjutsu guard stance (Master Masaaki Hatsumi) it is the correct weaponless guard stance for the ninja
feet could be a little less separated when walking. it is not the same stance with long weapons in hand (Katana). Another popular Ninja weapon is also the "Kunai" which is used to cut like a knife and for releasing like a shuriken.
I hope this will be a 2 Co-op players game.

I really hope there is a mode that is either super-easy or perhaps even some cheats as I really wanted to get through the first game but ran out of skill sadly.

Back in January 2025, I suggested that you pose that question on the campaign page, in the Comments section.
Did you end up doing it?
Don't be shy! As a backer, you have the privilege of asking questions and making suggestions to help shape the game. The game is still under development, so there's still time for features to be added, such as a super-easy mode and cheat codes.

I'll do that, I did back it
You could also see if anyone in the community knows about code breakers cheats, the dev might be able to help too but there could be a code breakers cheat made for like 50 lives or something lol
Last month (April 2025), the developer posted that he finished coding the game engine for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive version. So now that the engines for the Neo Geo and Genesis / MD versions are done, could that mean that development of the Dreamcast version will be next? Stay tuned to find out!
The latest news for this month (May 2025) is that the game's core artwork is now almost fully complete, with just special effects and background animations left to add - these will bring extra life and energy to the levels.
