I set mine up with 192.168.0.195 to 192.168.0.196. This keeps it in range with my router.

hmm maybe that will work better but the thing is though on winrout the dc is suppose to show its own ip addres which is the one i put in

I tried the Xp guide too with my internal and external modem which are both voice modems so i don't know. I might either just buy a BBA or start playing PSO PC.


Oh and on the windows 98 server video on youtube the guy made a DNS server with his lan adaptor/wifi adaptor and put his DNS at 192.168.1.55

Yes, he did. The thing is the router he has might have a range of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.199. It depends on your router, so I hope to try my last modem out, but I think that one is not a voice modem (I have four modems, in which I do not believe are voice modems).

I'm gonna check out work to see if anyone has one Monday.

Ik I did what you said about the IP addresses. I was just thinking that if you made the DNS server something different might happen but I have no idea.

how do you find out the range of your modem?

Is your IP adress of you computer 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x ?

I found the IP address range on the ethernet router page. It can be accessed via the designated IP address of your router's admin page.
