Awesome! I just want to back my save up before I try any of this, but of course I'm having problems. I'm trying to do the Dream Explorer DC to PC connection via the BBA. I am running the DC-load file on the Dreamcast and the DC-TOOL GUI on my PC. My one hitch is getting them to connect. Right now both my computer and the DC are hardwired to my router. The DC-TOOL asks me to "Enter the IP where the Dreamcast is connected." Does that mean my DC's IP address? My computer's IP address? Do they need to be connected directly and not through my router? And whatever the answer, how do I find out what my DC's IP address is?

I'm excited at the prospect of being able to transfer over my 3 VMUs worth of saves over the years to one secure location...just need a little help. :)

Y dream explorer? Just copy them over in the file browser from the dreamcast menu.

You can go from the VMU to a PC that way? I can't see any option for that...

Just email them If you are having trouble. You have a bba and the web browser right?

that's because there isn't one. i don't think he understood you. another way to get everything on your PC would be to upload everything. that method would suck if you have tons of files though. you could also buy a nexus memory card. they have a cord that plugs into your PC to transfer the save data.

one way would be to go into your router and see what devices are attached. idk if your router has that feature though? my netgear router does have it and its very easy to use. it also lists all the devices MAC addresses

I went into my router and found the MAC that corresponded to my DC. Copied the IP from there and plugged it into DC-TOOL. Made a bit more progress, but still no dice. Do you connect that way? How did you do it? I know I must be close, because it isn't giving me the error this time, but it's just sort of hanging there...

And I keep hearing about people uploading file by file...how do you do that? Through the XDP browser?

-You cant copy pso saves with dreamcast own file manager, they are protected;

-How to know your DC IP: by manually configure it.

-How to upload files: with any working browser (xdp, planet web 3), email to yourself, and attach the saves you want.

Dr. Pariolo, he wants to upload ALL of his saves. not just PSO, but that is an important note to keep in mind. a few other games are locked too. one that comes to mind is soul calibur. dream explorer has a tool on it to unlock those saves. but I'm pretty sure he already knew that.

btw good luck trying to email them. i have had trouble using that method. it may have been because i was using planetweb 1.0. but i cant remember now. that was years ago. i always uploaded saves to blueswil after that. even if he can email them with out issue, it would take for ever if he has a lot of saves.

Yeah i know, just saying how to upload via email because he just asked that. But clearly for what he wants right now hes gonna have to use the dcexplorer bba to pc connection.

i connect using a PC-DC server or just by using normal dial up. what did you put into the DNS fields?
