WTB Sega Dreamcast Broadband Adapter HIT-0400 or HTK-0401

Post by the-topdog »

I'm wanting to go online with my Dreamcast and I only have broadband, no dialup connection. So I am looking for an HIT-0400 or 401 so I can play Quake online :D

Does anyone here have a spare one they would like to sell?

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah I saw the new ones on eBay and had a heart attack... that's why I'm hoping someone has a used one for around $100...

Is there a link to a topic on this board explaining how to get online with an old PC running an older operating system? I happen to collect vintage computers and gaming systems so I should be able to hook something up :D

It is fairly easy, you can use windows 98 or ME. ME is the same setup except one minor change that Ill mention if you choose to use it.

Thanks guys! Looks pretty simple... but it looks like it is just 33.6k... does Quake play well over a bridge like that?

Of course I am still interested in obtaining a broadband adapter as well.

For me, lag is a problem on certain servers.

Even on my own server which is five feet away from my Dreamcast and my PC-DC Server, Radkin, Bobs, and Mike were getting far better connections.

Also, if your planing on playing Quake 3, and if you want to get your hands dirty in some old fashion Terminals, Linux is the way to go, you get to see the server list, and it really isn't that hard to set up.

If you have a Mac you can also see the Server list, the Mac is supposed to be the easiest.
