Game Regions
If there is a Japanese import or a PAL game that I want to play. Can I still play the game on my US region dreamcast? And do I need anything special like a boot disc?

Re: Game Regions
If you want play pirate copy in most cases you need nothing just play like always - regional protection is hacked mostly .
If you want play license copy you need boot disk called DC-IE Import Enabler or similar (DC-X Import Game Adapter).

Re: Game Regions
Who would use a modchip when burnt games boot without it. The only positive would be you would not have to swap for bought import games. But even if you buy the import you could just download it and play it without swapping. Why open up your dreamcast and solder something to it when you don't need it?You could always buy a modchip to make the DC region free

EDIT: looked at your link and now I see why.

Re: Game Regions
Main reason I got this was for a few member at racketboy, they wanted to play imports without swap and they do not use CD-R/burnt games.Favrenation wrote:Who would use a modchip when burnt games boot without it.
