Marathon trilogy

Post by Anthony817 »

Hey, I was thinking, it would be great to commemorate the launch of Halo Reach and the DC 11th birthday with trying to fix the Marathon trilogy that was already ported to Dreamcast all those years ago.

For those that dont know, Aleph One is a pc port of the Mac games that Bungie made before Halo in the 90's that took place in the same universe as Halo, and actualy these 3 games are after Halo 3 in the timeline.

The only problem with the Dreamcast port is that the game can only be played with Mouse and Keyboard, and the saves aren't working at all.

Now, I have no idea of the technicalities involved in making the gamepad and saves work, but someone over at the Alep One forums actualy made a joypad plugin for the games and it shouldn't take much time to get them working I assume.

Does anybody think that they could give it a try and see if they could possible fix the saving or at the very least try and impliment the joypad plugin for DC?

I already have a thread on the Aleph forums asking about fixing saves and joypad, but those guys acted like assholes.

Here is the DC port if anybody wants to look at it.

Also, the guys over at DCisozone have been kicking ass making custom covers, so a Halo themed cover has already been made!

Please guys, this game is mostly finished save for the 2 little problems mentiond above. I have played it on PC, but think it would be kooler to play it on the Dreamcast. :geek:

Unfortunately Bero didn't release the source as a full.

Instead he included his 2 new source files and a .diff file for the aleph one he used to port it.

The port he used is 0.12, I can't find that version of the source code.

Yes, and like I already said, he only included his 2 new source files and a .diff file.
