I have been able to get online with all but Q3 since I removed the default-async. Now, that being said, I am trying to use the same PC (with two modems) to connect to the internet. I have been able to connect any one Dc to any one modem with success. I am now attempting to connect two DCs at one time to the PC. The problem is that it does not like the second user I added. I checked the DC's config, and added a second user. The only thing of suspect is the "pap-secret" being that it may not like the way I entered the second user in.

Anyone have any ideas?

Bob Dobbs

Sorry, Favrenation, I should have stated that I never tried to connect with it. My understanding is that it is a tough game to connect with. We have a BBA for PSO and Q3.

Just changed the guide around a bit. If you've followed this you might want to read through it again.

I'm no computer geek, and just about everything in this guide is hard for me to understand and I'm not very familiar with technical terms, so I'm trying to break things down a bit before I decide to shoot myself in the head due to information overload! It's really frustrating! :x

Of course, there are some things I'd like to know.....

I remember my console came with the Web Browser disk, but I got rid of it because I didn't think that I needed it. Is it necessary to use software for the Dreamcast (ex. Web Browser) prior to this tutorial?

After setting up the PC-DC server, do I have to repeat the steps in the tutorial to get the Dreamcast online every time? It looks like a lot of work!

Just take it one step at a time. And no, you do not need to repeat these steps every time to get the Dreamcast connected. This is simply how you set up your dial up server for the Dreamcast to dial in to. You can set up the "DC side" of things at any point in the guide. However it does need to be set up before you are able to connect. If you do not have a web browser disc, you can burn a copy of XDP or Planetweb. Take a look through the download section of this site. Planetweb is the easiest for configuring your internet connection. However, I think XDP is a better browser overall. Good luck! If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
