Dude, the Xbox 360 is the spiritual sucessor to the Dreamcast, it would be dumb to release it only on the PS3. The 360 controller is closer to Dreamcast than PS3 is, so if it is not multiplatform, they will loose a lot of money! I think it should be released on the big three. 360, PS3 and PC! Plus, they should release the first 2 games with an HD Makeover on the systems and get much needed revenue to make the final game.

I would buy Shenmue 1 and 2 with American English voices on part 2 on Steam to play in HD on my PC with my 360 controller, so it feels as close to the DC controller as possible in the PC.

If Sega had to fund the whole thing themselves, they're probably go multi-console (excluding the Wii of course).

But I would wager dollars to donuts that they'll seek additional funding from Sony or Microsoft for exclusivity.

And honestly, my guess is that Sony would be more interested than Microsoft only due to the colossal financial failure of Shenmue IIx.

I hate Sony and everything they stand for, but as far as that game is concerned, it has more universal appeal on the PS3 due to its success in Japan and the 360's failure there.

I would assume Sega will release Shenmue I and II via Live and PSN. Those numbers might determine the fate of Shenmue, be it on one console, both consoles, or no consoles (no this isn't a loop hole for PC exclusivity).

Maybe I'm wrong, thats just my guess.

All in all, I can't afford to buy a PS3 and I don't have enough reasons to do so.

If this Sega console is real maybe Shenmue 3 will be on that?

Shenmue City, which Suzuki decided to make after being exposed to Mafia Wars, may be the first step towards a proper sequel. With Shenmue City, Suzuki says that he wants to show the Shenmue world from a perspective that doesn't focus on the top level graphics and sound for which was series was originally known. If the game is a success, it could lead to additional developments.

In short, that means he could maybe make a profit from city which could in turn lead to a Shenmue 3.

Sega could make it for the Wii and just use the old graphics. I'd say they have some of Shenmue out there.
