I'm looking for a good First Person Shooter (FPS) that has a real single player mode.
The two biggest FPS's on the Dreamcast share the same problem.
Quake III Arena - The Single Player is the same as multiplayer except all of your enemies are bots.
Unreal Tournament - Same as the above, its the same as multiplayer.
Neither of these have a good, if any story.
OutTrigger - There isn't a story that last any longer then the time it takes you to kill X enemies every level.
Are there any others?
Thank you.

Soldier of Fortune has good single player, especially with the keyboard and mouse. Be prepared to have to sit through looong loading, though.

I heard about the long loading times, someone said they are 2+ minutes at times.Penta wrote:Soldier of Fortune has good single player, especially with the keyboard and mouse. Be prepared to have to sit through looong loading, though.
I will try this game, thank you!
Also, if you think of any others just name them, they don't have to be official or released on GD-Roms.

Second that.Favrenation wrote:Half Life
It was, after all, intended for the dreamcast

There were not really that many fps games for the dreamcast.
You can try those tom clancy games, spec ops 2, hidden & dangerous, or maybe death crimson if you want story & are willing to give up gameplay (it's meant to be played with a light gun...).
If your open about your definition of "fps" then you could also consider the rolling games - Alien Front Online is a personal fav, Vigilante 8 2nd Offense is great, and i think wild metal, red, and possibly charge n blast all are along the same lines. Your just in a vehicle

PSO Dreamcast BBA ftw @ Dreamcast-Talk.com

Re: FPS With A Real Single Player Mode
Half-Life Gold and all the mods. That is the best looking game and I think they have the best stories. Look at the list of HL mods I have uploaded at DCisozone. Those are all known mods currently released for Dreamcast, and more are to come. Dreammatrix is looking at porting a WW2 HL mod called Operations 1942, and uses Day of defeat models and assets. It will be like having MOH or COD in the HL engine. Anyway, look below for all known fully ported mods.

Kiss:Psyco Circus is a really great looking game too. If you have ever played Pain Killer for PC or Xbox, then you should know what to expect from this game. I think it has great graphics and it is a singleplayer game only, so it should hold you over.
Law56kers Doom Collection is a seriously fun Doom 1 and 2 mods collection where many are fully new games! Much fun to be had there.
Edit, Yes, if you like FPS controlls on 3rdperson games, you should definatly check out Alien Front, Panzer front(if you can handle japanese) and MDK2.
As for Vigilante 8, it is the best vehicular combat game on any system(my favorite), but I wouldn't really call it "FPS like", although you do use the trigger for shooting.
