Half-Life Dreamcast magazine articles thread!(56k beware!!!)

Post by Anthony817 »

Hey all, Barry the Nomad over at Dreamcast Junkyard has filled a personal request by me for an article from the ODCM USA magazine on the Half Life Multiplayer mode! This should be good retro reading and show you how far they actualy were in the MP progress.
As requested by Anthony817, here is the Half-Life article that was touted on the cover of ODCM's November 2000 issue. Click the images to enlarge. I tried to get them as crisp and as legible as I could without crushing the magazine in a scanner.

After only reading the first page thus far, I have found this much!

Sierra said there were going to release 2 Half Life games! One with just singleplayer with HL1 and Blueshift, which we have a version of that on the leaked disc.

Then they were gonna release a Stand alone Multiplayer game in January of 2001 with Opposing Force, Team Fortress 1.5 and possibly even Counter-Strike!

Looks like modders have fulfilled all but the Team Fortress mod and the Multiplayer at all!

Just imagine if the Multiplayer beta was leaked and still worked online! Man, this is madness that this MP version has never fucking been leaked at all!

I saw this over at DC-Junkyard prior to this post. I also saw that Anthony817 got the credit for the posting of this; nice work. I was hoping he would do a feature on the greatest game of all time, Irritating Stick on the best ever game system, Playstation 1. He turned me down for some reason.

I wonder why he turned you down Dobbs? He seemes like a pretty nice guy so far. Maybe he just doesn't have the game? I remember this game in magazines ten years ago, never played it though. Maybe cause PS1 is shit lol.

I will tell you this though, I was suprised he posted it at all, because I asked him about it like 3 months ago lol, I suppose he is a busy guy irl. :D

He's very busy. He's writing his doctorate paper for graduation and has little time for the DC-Junkyard. I wish him well.

I renamed the thread and edited the first post with a ton of more magazines A user by the name of Barnz gave me all of these scans and comparason pictures that he has been collection since 1999! He has helped me almost reach my goal of having every magazine article of Half-Life Dreamcast ever produced in English, and he gave me one in Spanish too for those in Latin America and Spain. Special thanks goes out to him for all the work he has done 11 years in the making! I hope everybody here will enjoy reading about these articles as much as I do, enjoy!

If you want full size pictures of all the magazine articles I have so far, you can find them below.

If anybody else has any other scans they could be so nice as to add to this package, please send them to me and I will update the post with more pictures allong with your name in the credits.
