Re: Why did you get your DC
It was a true console as opposed to a stripped down PC. It was also made by Sega and had games that I had always wanted to try out... Also, Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Re: Why did you get your DC
I got a Dreamcast because i always wanted one when i was younger, but never got one.
Oct '99: Wanted the Dreamcast so badly at release date in England
Christmas '99: Ask for a Dreamcast, don't get it
2000: I was 6 or 7 didn't have much money, parents didn't have much cash, couldnt get one.
2001: Sega discontinue Dreamcast, my parents said to me that the ps2 was a better investment and i got a ps2 at christmas 2002, despite putting a Dreamcast on my list lol
2002-2007 - Played ps2, but wanted Dreamcast still, looked on ebay but the ps2 had good games at the time, so my parents bought me ps2 games at christmas instead. I wanted a DC still, i was young didn't get much pocket money, so relied on christmas and birthday presents, if i got cash i usually spent it on Arsenal tickets so that's why i couldn't get DC during the period.
October 2007: Put an end to my Dreamcast virginity, bought a console on ebay.
Oct '07 - May '08: Dreamcast is great, but then in May 08 it has a problem. Playing Soul Calibur and oh no!!!... The Dreamcast start up page. I thought oh that must of just been my mistake, but it happens again!!
June '08 - Return from holiday and snap up a new DC
1st Oct 08 - Still working fine and have a lot of games
I really regret not getting DC at release date, i just couldn't afford it as i don't come from a rich family, and as i said i bought Arsenal tickets with b'day and christmas money, so i couldn't get a dreamcast
Hope you don't all dislike me because i didn't get one until '07 lol. I would have got one in '99 if i had the cash

Did you get one?
You're the man, hobo!
Dreamcast is like the mafia - once you're in, you're in!

And it can be agressive like the member of the mafia! Just watch PS2 vs Dreamcast funny face off on youtube. That's a proof the DC is "the ultimate gaming experience" It even says so on the orignal box!

Re: Why did you get your DC
Well, I guess I have always been a dedicated Sega fan. I went from the NES to the Sega Genesis and bypassed both Sega Saturn and PS1 and went right to DC. It was worth it. Also I saved myself a ton of money not buying any of the 32-Bit Systems.

Re: Why did you get your DC
Some of my boddys & I were just talking about Sega Genesis. I played it at my friends house once before & was really into the games & then when I found out it was from Sega, I got pretty interested in it. I was still working on getting a DC at the time so nothing else really mattered to me atm.
It's a really good system though.
