I wonder, if it comes with enhanced Graphics, might we see an underground version of these titles for the Sega Dreamcast? This would be awesome!
SEGA’s Dreamcast Collection features enhanced graphics for both platforms versions.

strait from the quote that Anthony817 provided.
I know, the reason I posted that was because Anthony posted that.

I wasn't implying as to whether it came with enhanced graphics, but that someone might port the enhanced assets to the Dreamcast versions. ;)

Sadly, there's nothing much "Dreamcast" about this collection.

Crazy Taxi is based on it's PC port, which is explained by the terrible draw distance, widescreen support, and (too a lesser extent) the ease of modding out the music and advertising

Sega Bass Fishing, yeah the same as the PC version

Sonic Adventure is based on DX, but with a few skins changed around (but, surprisingly, a good deal of DX texturing and models left.

Space Channel 5: Part 2 is the easiest of the bunch to identify, because of one, cardinal trait: English voices! These were never present in the Dreamcast version (aside from TuxTheWise's excellent DCRES version). So where did this version come from, if not the PC or Dreamcast? The PS2. The PS2 got a port of it. Why they didn't go about releasing Part 1 is beyond me, but I'm not Sega's marketing department (hey, if I were, do you think I'd choose THESE games? Cmon, I want some Adventure 2, Shenmue 1 and 2 and Jet Grind Radio!)

Still, I'm so buying this when it hits the bargain bin. Still classics, regardless (even with the lackluster English dub of SC5)

That is true. Sega even said they lost a LOT of SDK to their Dreamcast games over the years. This is an unfortunate side effect of their mismanagement of their dev kits.

From what it sounds like, it a half assed effort by our friends at Sega. I'm not amused. They should of just released them one by one and made them all direct ports from the DC.

Yeah I mean when you remember the dreamcast is this what you remember? The fact that a fishing game is one there (even if it is good) just proves how bad it is. So what if it would have been harder to put shenmue are Skies of Arcadia on the 360? Sega obviously doesn't care about their customers anymore.

I feel exactly the same about this - it's just a half assed attempt to keep the Dreamcast fans happy - and they aint even direct ports!

I'll buy this when it's cheap - the ONLY thing that could make me buy this ga,e quicker than that is if theres a Dreamcast console as an avatar award! lol
Dreamcast, it's still thinking.

Add me to the pissed off group. What a waste of time. I'd prefer to play the dreamcast version of pretty much every single one of these games, except Space Channel 5 Pt 2 because of the english voices (and even then, i have a better pirated version, thanks to DCRES project, who i think is tuxthewise).

Anyway, I'd pay $20 for a full port of shenmue with widescreen. So stupid. Screw you sega.

On the upside, maybe some people will feel the urge to play the real games on the real console after playing the collection.
Really, the only halfway interesting game on the disc is Space Channel 5 Part 2.
Contrary to popular belief, there is no DCRES version with english voices. There's an oRAR release made like that with corrupted (or even sometimes missing) movies, which also tends to freeze a lot.
But this game will be released for XBLA as a standalone title, right? So there's really no need to buy the whole collection.
Of course, there's still some quality issues to considered... Crazy Taxi without the original soundtrack is a joke and I bet we'll hear Ulala say "Press the circle button when you hear them say 'Hey!'"

Haha yeah, the circle button thing will crack me up, as I'm sure that is the case.

Whoever made the copy of part 2 that I have did an excellent job. It hasn't frozen for me, and the movies work perfectly.

Mh, I reskon a 2 game compilation on a single disc of SC5 Part 1 and 2 should be possible right, or are the games too big to fit? I was just thinking of having the English patched version and the US version of part 1 would be nice. I highly respect folks that translate games from Japanese to English. It must be harder than translating from English to Spanish or Russian, as Japanese Kanji writing is farther from the Latin Alphabet than Russian Cryllic is.
