I've been willing to get this one for quite some time now, but since its not cheap I want to know one thing:
how does it play, is it fixed camera like RE or flowing like Blue Stinger?

I think you can rotate the camera but Iam not sure since most of your time will be spent in 1st person because of the many, many random encounters. This game is not for all and may prove too much for some.It looks very nice but battles can get annoying with tougher enemies and the story is just plain weird.(in a special japanese sort of way.)

Well maybe I'm just plain weird(in a not very special english sort of way) but I think it's one of the best games on the Dreamcast. The game is played out in third person whilst exploring, with the camera changing to first person when either facing enemies, hunting or searching rooms. It has many suberb quality cutscenes using in-game graphics where most of the dialogue and story is played out.

I would go for the US version over the japanese one if you can't speak the language-the story and message of the game would be too easily missed otherwise. I say this even though the japanese version includes a controversial scene omitted from the US version.

Why the game didn't get a PAL release I don't know. For production values alone this game would be worth checking out.

I had this awhile ago - sold it on ebay and couldnt beleave how much I got for it (was US version)

I really enjoyed it - very slow at times (I found myself saying out loud - 'come on, come on') at some points. (just the camera pans quite slowly!)

I didnt get that far - was playing so many other DC games at the time that I deceided to sell it, kinda wish I hadnt of now though.
Dreamcast, it's still thinking.

I owned it when it was new, and I can say it is behind the camera third person view for exploring, but in combat it goes FPS.

It has RPG elements to it like leveling up, and it is a very unique game to say the least, I want to get it again, but all the 8 disc split releases turn me off.

Get this special beta of the game on a single disc, it will give you a feel of the game without wasting discs and you can do stuff that you couldn't in the final game like get a snowmobile early in the game.

i hadn't realised the price had gone up for the US version over the years. However I still think it's worth £30 of anyones money.

Quick quiz question: Which other WARP cult classic was released for the Dreamcast ?
