(pre) Free stuff that needs a home thread

This is not the thread, but a pre-thread I'd like to gather some input on before I post it.

I have a lot of stuff that I have no use for. Things I've done electronics testing with (infra red wireless keyboard with built in mouse), things that I don't value enough to sell on ebay or post for trade (single games per system, incomplete games, extra dreamcast modems & parts, or single controllers I don't use).


I'm sure others here do as well. If I'm going to start handing out things for free, I'd prefer to give them to people whom I (partially) know and (generally think) would make good use of my unused junk.


I really don't mind giving this stuff away to people who might have a use for it, but going about it 1) a fair way and 2) an affordable way (as in shipping), are things I'm unsure about.


As far as I'm thinking; 1 item per person from 1 person's junk-pile, and they have to pay shipping?




I just have a lot of stuff and don't know what to do with it all, as I know selling an IR keyboard or dreamcast modems or single used controllers on ebay, or offering them in trade forums, is pointless and wasteful.

Any ideas?

I think it is a good idea, but I think it should always be at the "sellers" decision whether or not to give it to someone.

I would like the Dreamcast modem if it's 56K or broadband. I currently have a PAL 33K modem that will probably need a line voltage inducer to work with the DC-PC server.

If you under any circumstance don't get any requests from other tha wish to have the controller I might as well acquire that one as well just for the heck of it.
I'm actually looking for DC controllers these days.
