Re: phantasy star offline?
To be honest I sort of prefer playing offline. I played when it was a new game online, and sort of had a formal goodbye when the servers were on their way out. Playing online here at dreamcast talk is awsomeness and great, but after playing the game solo for 5 years, its ingrained a feeling of solitude that actually added to the atmosphere of playing on the surface of ragol. When the original servers were out, the events and the outcome of the game became 100% dependant on you.
What I'm trying to explain is that without he "online" you really get a feeling of being alone in the world whilst playing.
It's only after a game "dies" that it can gain this impossible-to-program feeling. I will always play this game due to this. It makes the game a perfect escape.
On the other hand, if you were not around to feel the original online SEGa experience, then its just another game.
Oh, and if your 100% offline, you might not make it past ultimate forest, possibly earlier depending on your character type.

I think it's less fun then online.
Let's be honest, wouldn't you rather share your gameplay and progression with other players?
Offline is great for leveling up and finding stuff on your own.

yeah only I don't wanna start searching for private servers and all that, I just wanna chill and play it whenever I feel like it only I'm not sure if it's worth investing time in it if it will suck

I think it's pretty fun alone. It definitely does have this strange empty atmosphere to it now that adds a different enjoyment to it.

I would say its not fun, but that's only because I haven't been able to get past the second boss after 2-3 years of owning it.
I don't think I've put enough hours in

Re: phantasy star offline?
I think it just depends on the person. I play PSO offline only these days and I have fun playing it. I played PSO online till just before the servers went down. Once I got broadband it was pretty much impossible for me to play the Dreamcast online anymore. I did not even buy PSO V2 till the servers were gone as I found it on the cheap. I enjoy playing PSO offline as I just prefer solo gaming now. I'm currently working my way through Caves Ultimate with a Level 108 HUmar. It's slow going but I will make it through at some point.
