I'm getting the same error using the DC-Talk auto connect version. Did you ever figure this out TeamXlink?

How long ago did you download the dc talk auto connect? It may be out of date.

What I'd really like to see if someone is making new ISOs is for someone to explain exactly how one would go about modifying their own ISO. I know that there's some sort of encoding/encryption/something going on with the binary, and nobody's ever explained how one might go about undoing/redoing that...

For me no one is against anyone.
It's true some methods have never been shared, meaning despite ppl wanting to do something, they always need to rely on the ppl that know how to do it.

Btw, i still have a blank disk of dc-talk (PSO), let's say i want to go online, should i burn the iso provided now or should i wait a bit more for some improvements.
I only have one of this kind, so i want to record something usefull in it

Actually, using the original SDKs illegally is another thing that REALLY pisses me off a lot. Its disrespectful to those of us that have spent a lot of time working on KallistiOS and the like. Its essentially like saying to us, "Your work is worth nothing."

If 3D performance is really a problem, work on improving the homebrew stuff, don't take the "easy" but insulting road out. That's the way I look at it. Plus, its more rewarding in the end anyway.

You know I use KOS a lot, so don't look at me lol. And I do not use it illegally.

I love KOS, if it wasn't for it and all the work Dan, ( you ), and the rest of the crew put on it I probably wouldn't be coding for the dc in the first place ( heck I started to learn how to program to code for the dc... ).

I was just saying that having the choice would be good.
Nice try you fool! lol BBQ!

I need to edit the IP address on the exe from PSO Palace so I can connect to the new server, right?
Someone please tell me how to do it? xD

Never mind the above...
But does anyone know how can I change the resolution on the fullscreen exe?

I guess you found out ip patch somewhere (enables you to patch the exe with any ip, connecting you to where you want)

PSO v2 for pc uses the same resolution as pso on the dreamcast, so no resolution options are avaiable and there isn't a program to increase it.
Best you can do is apply graphic options from your graphic board such as anti alising, making it look better.

Hey guys, im pretty new to all this and i just wanna clarify what i need to do, ive tried to read and understand the first post in this thread but its kinda confusing. So my situation is that i am in the uk, have pal dc and pso v2 and will soon have a bba.i also have dreamkey 3.0. If i want to connect do i simply change the preferred dns server in the dk3.0 disc to the code mentioned at the start of the thread? Was just confused as i was expecting an ip address, not letters! Sorry if im being thick!

Whats the community like? Is anyone still playing the dreamcast version? Is there much activity at the moment? Any hacking to be wary of? I would prefer to just play with like minded dreamcast gamers than pc players but dont mind if i havent much choice.

Anyway thanks in advance!

Most players play v2 for pc, there are however many dreamcast players and most come from dc-talk, i'm guessing the autoconnect disk made lot's of things simple enough.

If you go to the sylverant website you will notice 3 ships and all the players playing there atm, normaly the ship is empty and usually it has like 3 or 4 players at a time, sometimes there can be 6,7,8 players, that usually happens because the more there are online, the more players want to play.
You can always arrange a game here if you can't find anyone to play with.

As for cheating, some players from dc-talk and many from pso palace do cheat by using hacked items and modified games.
If you want to protect yourself against that kind of gameplay, i recomend using the command /legit in Vega or Iselia after you make a game, that will block some cheaters from getting in and enables you to report anyone that violates the game rules by cheating.
(meaning if someome cheats in a legit game, you can report it to the moderation and it will be taken care of).

You have the option by playing in altimira, but the legit command acts differently and alows many common game modifications (plain cheats to me), so don't be suprised if ppl enter with items you cannot get.
Each ships has it's own rules, so when playing on altimira you accept those rules.
