I almost think you have to start other people on the NES versions to give them a taste for Gauntlet. The nice graphics of Legends make it appear more complex than it is. Also, N64 has probably the most functional, user-friendly version but it in no way captures the vivid arcade feel.

I actually think it's a really good game. I don't know why some people hate it so much. It makes good use of the VMUs too (Your cards show up on the screen). Yes, it is very similar to Mario Party but it there are differences. Mainly, you play with cards instead of dice (which changes the gameplay strategy quite a bit). There are a few other small differences here and there as well. I'd say it's a fun game and definitely worth picking up as you can get a copy pretty cheap.Nuglet_McJunior wrote:Is Sonic Shuffle really that bad? I've never played, but I've never heard anyone call it underrated.

I used too play it on the NES, and on the PC through MAME, I also played it on the Xbox and GameCube with one of the Midway Treasures.
I first heard about it on one of the video game history shows on G4, it sounded like the perfect money making Arcade game.

yeah, coz it didn't give you lives, it gave you an energy bar & you needed to push coins to refill it.

"Welcome Back, Red Jester!~"
A group of friends and myself used to have zombie nights, where we played a few games and usually ended up playing one of the House of the Dead games, where in which with every 'bite' we received we were 'succumbing to the infection' by taking another drink.
My problem with that little drinking arrangement was that I don't drink beer, so i had to take a shot of vodka with every hit I took.
But I'm also dreadfully good at the game... So I could either win the game, or win at life by becoming completely trashed because I wanted to bring the 2nd player down by not being able to assist
Recently although this game has been played on the wii remake & overkill due to the lack of a CRT tele
Second that! Worms makes a wonderful game to tie in drinking rules.DCUltrapro wrote:you can't go wrong with a bit of Worms World Party!!
