Mag Force Racing, Does anyone else rate it v highly?

So I just popped this back in my Dreamcast again last night for the first time in over 2 years and it brought all my memories flooding back! Such a great little racing game and when it came out it was not a full price title... I got it for about £5 brand new!

For those of you who don't know, this is a port of an old ps1 game called killer loop (I think) and basically its a mixture of Rollcage and Wipeout. The idea is to just race and win and attack your opponents with weapons in the process.

But the game really comes into its own when you have to start using the Mag Force properly, the tracks become increasingly complicated to the point where you will be riding upside down on roofs and loop the loops etc and the action really ramps up.

I spent months playing this little gem of a game and really became a bit of a pro at it after a while. Does anyone else remember this game and if so, did you love it as much as I did?

Looks interesting but not really my type of game. I'm not a big fan of Wipeout.

I noticed that the audio in your video is messed up about 3/4 of the way through. It starts making a loud clicking noise.

I think I will reload the vid as for some reason youtube was dicking me around!

It doesn't really handle anything like Wipeout they only reason I liken it to Wipeout is because of the weapon combat etc, its a nice little racer but its really fast

I rate it very highly, it has a lot of depth. If you can look past the camera flaws, its a great came!

Yeah I totally agree, especially some of the later levels where you really have to conserve your mag energy etc, it can be insanely hard getting round some of the tracks but I love the game, it really sucks you in, God I wish it had an online mode

Looks interesting. Your video makes it seem like the frames/polygons run similar to fps. Do they? fps graphics make me nauseous and dizzy.

It is a VERY quick game and the framerate does run quite nicely but the picture is probably a bit fuzzy as it is a video recording from filming my tv, not a direct feed obviously lol, so the quality isn't 100%, this is filmed using the VGA Box and full 480p over my LCD tv. It never actually made me nautious but then niether do FPS' lol. Its a wicked little racer with lots of crazy levels and vehicles. I'd be interested to do some challanges just to maybe see peoples best times on a certain course with a certain type of vehicle.

The idea is that, when you look at the vehicles you currently have, each one has a line of boxes with a symbol for each track, you have to beat each track shown in order to unlock the next stage of that car. As you go you will unlock other vehicles and tracks too.

I might make another video showing one of the most mental tracks I can find, a track where you ride a reverse loop the loop, so you drive on the outside rather than the inside lol

I forgot about this game when sonic riders 2 / zero gravity came out. The mechanics of wallcling in that game are incredible. Shadow with Shinobi skates Ftw!!!

never played riders 2, I played Sonic Heroes and I've got Free Riders on the 360. So have you played Mag Force Racing? Some of the vehicles you can unlock are completely nuts!
