Is there a way to host a private server for Phantasy Star On-line?
I.E. Have a server running within Winblows, Linux, or what ever.
Then plug a DC into the PC via modem, or if you have it, connect through Broadband. Then boot up PSO on the DC and PC and play together.
Is this at all possible?

Re: PSO Private in home server....
yes and no. all of the server software runs on one of those operating systems, but you can indeed have one running on your home computer. i am not sure all of the ways that you can connect to it though. i use to run one on my pc and i had a PC-DC server running to connect to it. my server ran on windows xp btw. you could also have connected to it with normal dial up and the broadband adapter. the server software could be downloaded from schthack's website last i knew.
Re: PSO Private in home server....
Yes, get the "not updated for years software" at schthack website and launch it.
With pso pc it's easy, all you need is ip patch and patch the pso.exe with the ip of the server.
As for a dreamcast, best solution is broadband i guess
@gary
Congrats on the mod position

I warn you though ask the creator if you can do this with his hosting software , as he told me himself he didn't want more servers as it just makes the already broken community smaller.
