ok so hang on, isn't that Cel Shading?

Well cel shading is strange because 2d can be cel shading allso its just the mater of tone and colour be cel shading is usally on Vector drawings.

in 3D cel shading is a modification on the shading on the model giving it that cartoon look. but not thoughs are sprites drawn over 3D animations.

Ok after more designing I decided to remove nightmare because He's to Large with his huge claymore of a weapon. and the animations he has and what ill have to draw I cant make him much smaller. I'm aiming for an actual scale like SFA, and KOF, I dont want to aim for the Chibi style with the smaller characters because its not the aim im looking for. if I decide to change to that later on then I'll Put him back in.

So far Im thinking to replace him with Max from Streets of Rage 2.

And Kasumi from Dead or Alive is on my list due to her an Taki both being Ninja/Female So One of them will be getting the boot for someone else. I have Gum from Jet Grind Radio in Mind.

This is a 2D fighter. i.e. CVS2, Street fighter, its all going to be on the dolmexica engine. once Captain DC has released a stable version. But I'll Still be working on certain things like character design and, move-sets and priorities. Even these are some of the obstacles im facing now. I'm also working on creating a proper roster of characters that have appeared on the Dreamcast, as well as characters that are mostly dreamcast exclusive. Hopefully CaptainDC can get the engine to have online support. it will really contribute to the community and online community. ^.^

Anyone have some other characters that could replace Nightmare from Soul Calibur?

I think you should include some of the more obscure Dreamcast characters such as those in Project Justice, Evolution(Mag Launcher would be good), JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, Last Blade, Fur Fighters(Juliette?), Urban Chaos(now that would be cool!), Roth from Dragon Riders (haha) etc etc

Or more mainstream characters like Rayman(yes please!), Ulala, Kao (er maybe not) or any of the mechs from Tech Romancer.

yeah anything from Sega/Dreamcast specific games such as JSR or Shenmue, I know you've mentioned a few already. maybe the lead girl from Maken X? with her awesome sword etc

Part of me think he can work better, than nightmare and he is much cooler. IMO. he's kind of like a M.Bison (dictator) and He's really nice characters design. and not So large of a character with a Big cleaver like Nightmare.

I did have Batsu, and Daigo Kazama in the line up. Mag, Juliette, and even Rayman could be considered. But I see a lot of issues like Hitbox, and unbalances. unless I give the Characters a design of my own kinda like making Mag a bit taller and more older, if I use Juliette I'll make her a bit more similar to Felcia from Dalkstalkers. And Rayman would be more like Dhalsim/Necro. not in appearance but making him more human like and having stretchy limbs.

As far as the Tech Romancer Mechs. I haven't thought of them i though of the characters that drive them and have the mechs as supers kinda like a JIN from MVC2 and a Jojo Bizarre Adventure. But as far as characters from the game I haven't looked at Jojo, and Last Blade i didnt look either cause i didnt want to fill the game with a Massive amount of characters with weapons. Within my list already had Taki, Nightmare, Ryoma, and Red Ring Rico Tyrell that already had weapons. then Kasumi, and Jack Wade, and Claire. have moves that feature weapons.

I want to put Beat I decided to take of his skates when he fights because the skates on and fighting will be weird to make. Thats if i decide to confirm him in the roster. Maken X main Character never played the game. and its going to be to many weapon characters if i decide to use her aswell. I did include Max from Streets of Rage just because hes a grappler characters which theres only 2 of.

I'm Excited for RRR Tyrell because i'm incorporating a lot of PSO features around her moveset designs and specials/supers.

Your list is really great, I think you picked a good selection to represent the DC, especially considering that there are so many cool characters. Must have been difficult to nail it down to no more than twelve! @_@

As for characters I'd like to see... Well, you already have loads of good ones up your sleeve, but maybe some of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure's "weaker" characters (like Young Joseph) would be a good idea. No real weapons either, he only has balls. No, small steel balls, not what you were thinking.
Anyway, it's your choice, just take what you feel comfortable with (after all, you have to draw it!) and I bet it's gonna be great!

Can't wait to see your concept art/sprites or other things related to this Crossover.

Oh, and just a small question: Do you want to create stages, too, or do you want to focus on the characters first? I'm just asking because there are a feeeew small limit-related problems with the Stages, hehe.

I'd like to see him with some more impressive moves though as I never found the darkstalkers games to be my taste, I prefer KOF or more classical Capcom fighter games etc

have you considered any from 3d fighters other than Soul Calibur? Such as Tech Romancer or Project justice? maybe even psychic force? mind you they probably wouldn't work
