It's time to formally announce ReviveDC's month of Street Fighter event.
Over the next month, we'll be releasing 8 Street Fighter games, a few of which haven't been done before. They're all at the level of quality you'd expect from us by now, meaning no downsampling, dummied files, sorttxt files, optimization where necessary, high resolution cover artwork and reviews. If you're a Street Fighter fan, you're going to be in heaven and I know that it's the reason a lot of people keep a Dreamcast around.
If you haven't subscribed to the newsletter yet, you should. Subscribers will get early access to some of the games. The first game will be available to those already subscribed tomorrow; if you're not in on it yet, send an email to [email protected] requesting to be subscribed by 12:01 AM PST, October 1st to get the game early.
For now, we'll announce the first two weeks. They aren't particularly exciting, but we're not too concerned; the good stuff takes a bit more time to work on. The rest of the games will likely be announced in a week's time.
If you're not familiar, there are several of our NEO4ALL games posted in the downloads section of this site, along with some commercial Dreamcast images. These games will all be posted there as well.
October 4th
Street Fighter Alpha 3 (sorttxt, data/data mode, nothing downsampled)
Super Puzzle Fighter II X English Translation
October 11th
Super Street Fighter II X English Translation
Super Street Fighter II X Blood on the Asphalt
October 18th
Street Fighter III Third Strike Arcade Edition
Street Fighter III Triple Threat
October 25th
3 games

Re: ReviveDC Project's Month of Street Fighter
Just wanted to post an update about next week's releases:
Since we're about a week out from two of the bigger releases this month, I'll start giving you some more info on them. Street Fighter III Third Strike Arcade Edition is one that will be of particular interest to Urien players. A beta of Third Strike was released a some time ago by a group (or user?) known as FLT. The beta is an earlier build of the game and slightly closer to the arcade version in that Urien's unblockable is possible. The move was removed from the Dreamcast version by Capcom as it was regarded as a glitch. That's not the only thing happening here; the PlayStation 2 version of Third Strike featured the original arcade soundtrack (for those unaware, the Dreamcast used an arranged version). ReviveDC member Dreamcaster was able to dump the soundtrack from the PS2 version, which I relooped for this Dreamcast release.
The next release for next week (possibly, read on) is my baby, Street Fighter III Triple Threat. Triple Threat is a compilation of the three different versions of Street Fighter III (New Generation, 2nd Impact and Third Strike). That isn't all this release is though; I'll also be including character movelists (for all different versions) and parts of an EventHub guide on Third Strike which will teach new players strategies and terminology. I had always planned on including character art but, thanks again to Dreamcaster, we now have all of the extra artwork that is included in Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition. This is slightly over 200 pieces of character artwork, stage concepts, and other things. I'm currently in the process of resizing (the artwork came in at about 400mb) all of this artwork to add to the game. There are still some other things to take care of before the game is ready. If it is not ready for October 18th, a perfect rip of Double Impact will be released instead.

Sign me UP!!! For both titles. This is SO Awesome!!! Few questions?
1. When and where can I get these badass DC titles!
2. Will you be replacing the arranged soundtrax for 3S completely or will there be an option to switch between both. (I personally love both trax equally)

Re: ReviveDC Project's Month of Street Fighter
Hey didn't know you were here CD Ages, nice seeing you someplace else other than Racketboy forums. You should also come over to Theisozone, its our headquarters, and we have our own ReviveDC subforum there too.
http://theisozone.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=53
As for when and how you can get them, Comrade usually uploads them to upload sites first, then spreads them here, and in our thread at Theisozone, and at Snesorama, then we also upload the games to our private file servers at Theisozone, cause it is safer, and nobody can remove our games except for me or another mod there.
Anyway, I should post something at our ReviveDC blog, some news or something, I only posted 2 peices of news, so I kinda feel bad about that haha.

Re: ReviveDC Project's Month of Street Fighter
More or less what Anthony said. Games release on Tuesdays. Arcade Edition is a lock for October 18th. Triple Threat could require more time. Games are posted in the download section here, SOR, SegaHub and ISO Zone.
As for switching soundtracks, it would have been a tight squeeze getting the arranged soundtrack onto the disc. The arcade soundtrack from the PS2 version was pretty high quality. I like to avoid any downsampling or ripping if possible.

Anthony817: Hey yeah, joined a little over 2 weeks ago (Lurking for WAY longer lol!) and am dig'n the DC vibe here so I plan to stay for the long haul and keep the Dreamcast hype going with all you fine folks
Thanks for the humble invite. Expect to see some forum activity by yours truly pretty soon there
Comrade Snarky: Oct 18 for sure!? I will count the day till then
SF3 Triple threat sound so ambitious and awesome that it can be delayed for another few months to make it off the ground and i'll STILL get hyped about it!!! But seriously 3S Arcade Edition is such a dream come true for me. IMO i always saw the DC version of 3S aesthetically superior to it's console rivals in terms of sheer visuals, color and sound! It's just that the re-balance has held it back from the hardcore 3S crowd! This is SOO awesome! i know i'm repeating myself here but it really is to a guy like me who not only loves Fight genre, but the Dreamcast.

October 18th, 100%. Its been done for a week or two. I recommend sending an email to [email protected] to subscribe to the newsletter (if you haven't already). We'll probably use it occasionally to ask for beta testers. Arcade Edition was one of those games that I asked people to test to make sure the music was looped correctly.CD AGES wrote:Anthony817: Hey yeah, joined a little over 2 weeks ago (Lurking for WAY longer lol!) and am dig'n the DC vibe here so I plan to stay for the long haul and keep the Dreamcast hype going with all you fine folksThanks for the humble invite. Also, no promises that Arcade Edition restores all of the arcade version's balance. Urien's unblockable is the only major change that was noted in the beta release. I'm not truly technical enough with the games to notice slight changes. One of our members is attempting to get his hands on an even earlier build of the game.
