USA/Europe Dreamcast Releases

Post by mazonemayu »

Can a mod stickie this please? I have archived this (it has been off and on the web for a long time, now I finally managed to find it again & saved it) & its on my own personal webspace atm, you can put it on the DC-T server for all I care, its somewhat important (and handy)to the dc scene

This is a really good list to have. Looks like Europe got all the soccer games, and USA got all the football games ;) Curiously enough, I know a bunch of this sega sports NBA/NFL games were released in Japan as well... I can't imagine American football games selling very well over there...

I never even heard of "MoHo"! Too bad it looks like a bad game

Yeah, that's a nice list. Much better than most of the attempts out there on the net. I haven't checked it for completeness - I'm presuming you have.

Moho didn't get an american release but, believe me, you're certainly not missing out on anything. Strictly for collectors only ;) Btw, it'll cost you ~£150 for a sealed copy.

yeah, for once europe changes the name of a game & suddenly no one understands

most games have the same name in europe & japan, and a different in the US; how does that make sense? ;)

The only name change I can really understand is Jet Set Radio to Jet Grind Radio as there were real legal reasons for the swap.

Well Jet Set is also kind of a nonsensical name in the context of the game.

""Jet set" is a journalistic term that was used to describe an international social group of wealthy people, organizing and participating all around the world in social activities that are unreachable to ordinary people"

Doesn't really apply to the game unless they are using "set" as the definition of the skating trick where you jump onto a rail, stop and balance without grinding, and then jump off. But then that would make about as much sense as Jet Grind.
