Shenmue 2 of course but then there's also Frame Gride which has become pretty popular over here due to a pretty nice English translation. I personally don't like Frame Gride much but its worth looking in to if you don't speak Japanese and a lot of people seem to really like it.

PAL: (aside from the mighty Shenmue 2) Rez and Headhunter! Evil Twin has some fans in this forum too ;)
JAP: L.O.L., Cosmic Smash, Ikaruga, Under Defeat, Zero Gunner 2... I'm sure there are many others.

Hundred Swords would probably be a good shout for best Japan region game, Frame Gride or any shooter such as Ikaruga would be my own personal shout. PAL would be the obvious ones as there are only about 4 anyway! Shenmue 2, Headhunter, Evil Twin, can't think of many others

I can't find a Pal version of Rez. I can only find the Japanese version. Is there a big difference besides the language?

Mazo I read the first few posts of that old thread, I don't remember seeing it yet I was mentioned in the second post! lol

so in response: yeah I do love Frame Gride very much, mainly because I was a big fan of Armored Core on PS1. but I got stuck at one point and couldn't work out how to get further. It would've been nice if you could've done something more to earn more crystals to build items with, I must've made a mistake along the way in my creation of parts as I wasn't powerful enough to handle the later missions.

Rainbow Cotton looks wonderful, Neo mentioned it and took some screenshots, I'd be pretty tempted to pick that up if I ever had the money!

SPEAKING of Frame Gride, did someone say there is a TRANSLATED version? If so where the hell can I get that?!?!?!

Its over at DC ISOzone :D . My issue with the game was that nothing was really stronger. I mean, you could play the whole game using the mech you start with and do just as well. From what I gathered getting crystals and making items only changed the element to make you more effective against certain opponents which just felt like more trouble than it was worth since I'd rather just get good enough to destroy someone regardless of the element than grind for those stupid crystals.

nah its more than just changing the element, you can't really unlock items any other way, you use the crystals to make EVERYTHING, your drones, new body parts like arms, legs, head etc, and the rarer the crystal the more potential to make something awesome, I used to love building new drones! I need to play through it again soon. Come to think of it I'm actually really tempted to play Armored Core again on the PSX! But that's a different story entirely lol
