I own and tried BD and have to admit it was way too difficult for me to enjoy  think I have to give it another try.

I wasn't sure wether to buy Chaos Field or this one. I think I will take a look at Trizeal first now.

@Neohound: I feel the same regarding Radirgy. It looks terrible.

Yeah, I'm definitely intrigued by Trizeal. I checked Ebay to get an idea of prices to complete my shmup collection.....damned expensive hobby this ain't it !

All this talk of Dreamcast ships automatically made me think of Bleem. Does anyone know if any Ps1 shooters work well with the Bleemcast Beta ? I'm particularly thinking of the original Gunbird but, obviously, there are loads of Ps1 games in this genre.

R-Type Delta works quite well, although some graphical effects like the waterfalls in level two are missing. Einhänder also works but unfortunately the speech samples don't. I haven't tried Strikers 1945 yet but I heard the emulation is fine.

First shooter for me was Raiden 2 :D

Omni, did you try going into options and turning the difficulty down all the way? Most shmups can be made pretty easy but they default somewhere in the middle.

There are a number of good shooters you can play on DC via neogeo CD emulation. Some of them even have really nice looking pre-rendered stage graphics, like Pulstar.

@Brian: I didn't turn the difficulty down. When I give it another shot, I'll certainly do that. I like the game's designs and effects and want to see more of it on my own VGA TV and not just on youtube ...

@dark: Pulstar is great indeed and there is Blazing Star, Viewpoint and Last Resort. I love my DC because it is a NeoGeo too :D

I've never seen the Neo Geo emulator (you'd think I had judging by my name!). I'm guessing that's what you mean anyway ?
