Director Yukawa's Treasure Hunt

Post by Alec1382 »

Am I the only guy who thinks Director Yukawa is awesome? Like Segata Sanshiro, except a socially awkward nerd instead of a badass. Okay, they're nothing alike. I take it back.

Has anyone heard of this game? It's called "Yukawa Moto Senmu Otakara", or "Former Managing Director Yukawa's Treasure Hunt". Apparently it was a pack in with JP Dreamcasts, and you competed in a competition to win 1,000,000 Yen.

It's only about $20 on eBay. Might be a good laugh/collectors piece. I might have to find it. Anyone own it? I wonder what it's like.

LOL I have this game as part of a puzzle pack.. I thought it was the most ridiculously lame "game" ever, but now it makes sense.
In this game you had to dig around a map looking for treasure which you could then register online and win the real goods between the dates 20th March 1999 and 11th April 1999. The top prize was an amazing 1,000,000 yen (About 5,200 GBPounds) !!!!
Since the contest is long over, I'd say save the $20! Trust me, it doesn't even qualify as a game.

+1

It's more like an easy-to-win flash game. If Dreamcast came out today they had definitely programmed a simple flash game. But back in the days...

Run around and dig 100 holes on one huge map... sometimes you find a piece of a puzzle. If you collect all pieces of one set you can see some merchandising, (upcoming) hardware and stuff. That's it. ^^

Don't make it to "Mr. Alec1382's Treasure Hunt". :D
It's a collectors item, but it would make a real DC collection complete. ^^
Try to get this game for less than $8 / 7 EUR.

It'd be kind of cool to have some Yukawa-related merchandise, if only for a collectors item though.

Check this out (skip to 1:40):

Apparently, that translates to:

"Oh, it's Yukawa-San, isn't it."
"Impossible!"

What a weirdo! :D

Haha, why are people so anal about spine cards! I wouldn't throw mine away for the ones I have, but I personally don't consider the game incomplete without it - did you hang on to the product registration folded up little cards that came new with US DC games? Of course you didn't :) No one did :)

Yeah, I know it's kind of silly. I'm just fussy like that. I actually did hang on to the registration cards on all my new games, but that isn't saying much since I only got into Dreamcast 2 or 3 years ago.
