Recording DC with HDPVR

I recently got myself a Happuage HDPVR which can record Composite signals, but unlike when recording HD, you cannot have a composite signal coming out of the PVR to you TV as its too laggy to watch the recording as its like 5 secs slower. hopefully someone here can help me out :) any help is appreciated
