Pre-TGS predictions and post-TGS discussion thread

Post by Egregore »

Well, Tokyo game show 2012 is going to start in a couple days. What are you guys most looking forward to hearing about? Does anybody have any predictions? Especially regarding Sega. Will they have anything big, exciting, or surprising to reveal at TGS this year? Like the long-rumored HD Shenmue remake or equal to Sonic adventure 2? Or maybe they'll finally shed some light on all the patents and trademarks they've been filing lately. Perhaps they'll announce a remake or sequel to Burning Rangers or they'll announce that they've completely reverse-engineered Panzer Dragoon Saga and their making an HD remake of it for Wii U and PC.

Or perhaps it will be unglamorous and boring and they'll just talk about all the stuff that they've already announced with no super special awesome surprises.

What do you guys think will happen?

Also, does anybody else think its weird that Nintendo is not going to be present at all during TGS? :? Its kinda weird for Japan's most popular video game company to not be present at the countries most famous gaming convention. It seems like they would have at least SOMETHING to say.

Hmm, my prediction is that Sega will unveil their plan for the Orbi. It will have two blueray players so you can stick 2 discs in at once and switch between them on the fly. The controllers will be tablets with the word "kidspad" on them, and will be wireless, but lack d pads and real buttons. The "kidspads" will run on rechargeable AAAs, but the Orbi won't recharge them. The kidspads will also be functional without the main Orbi console, and allow for DLC. They will also emulate the dreamcast and even play VMU games. Based on some trademark research I did, we know that the Orbi is going to have a claw/crane game built into it, with an actual physical claw that will come down and grab at the motherboard components similar to those claw games with the stuffed animals at pizza parlors. To compete with Sony and M$, Sega is also going to announce its strategic partnerships with movie studios AKA (Segamovie), music providers (Segamusic), and the planned Ooya network (Segaindie), to take full advantage of the Orbi's internal flash memory and online capabilities, and provide the full scale entertainment services that consumers demand in the 21st century. Finally, Sega is going to announce their partnership with a reformed Bleem!, and there will be a demo their Orbi Playstation 3 emulator.
