Best Way to Clean Dreamcast Games?

Post by dodge2461 »

Hello. So I finally get a new game(Quake 3 Arena), and it does not want to start on my Dreamcast. I can almost guarantee it is not the Dreamcast due to a hardcore Shenmue session a few hours ago, along with it working with every other game. Do you guys have a recommendation on how to clean the disc? They're don't seem to be any deep scratches on the disc.

You can buy special disc cleaners and special cleaning fluid for discs on Ebay or stores. I bought this from Ebay for only a few dollars, but I also bought Quake 3 for one dollar. :P

Nice. After a hardcore session with Windex, the disc is working.

I normally use those weird tv spray fluids that are made for LCD cleaning etc.

Then if it looks ugly or has issue (even though I am anal with my discs). I use car wax or Polywatch lens scratch remover. They both seemed to work very well on UMD discs I had an issue with, and 3DO games. I see no reason why they shouldn't help with dreamcast games too =)
