I think it would be more fun if we could limit it to games made since 1985. IE: NES and onward, or even 1995 and onward (PSX and up). There are tens of thousands of games across popular and obscure systems and PC during that time period anyway, I personally have no fun when people start posting screenshots of amiga games or C64 games or Spectrum games or intellivision games. Not only am I personally unfamiliar with those systems, but when the games are so rudimentary, it is hard to tell from a screenshot what the game and the gameplay is about, which makes searching for the answer online much tougher too.

Likewise, maybe we could limit it to titles that were published in hard copy format? IE: there are probably millions of indie games and flash games that only ever got 100 downloads. Searching for some obscure flash game from 2002 that no one ever played, reviewed, or wrote about wouldn't be any fun ;)

here's the deal: its not coz someone's unfamiliar with a certain system, it shouldn't be posted. I for one know shit about the PS2 library so it shouldn't be posted?

how about I make a new thread for it (guess the retro videogame" or something similar. anything is go: consoles, arcade & old home computers, (asthey often were a hybrid between a computer & a console) as long as it isn't current gen or pc. lets say a pic can stay up for 1 week & if it isn't guessed by then, the poster puts up something new. hints may be given.
and obviously it isn't the intention to dig up the most obscure game you can find just to screw with the game hence the 1 week maximum period for a screen (though this is debatable, as obscure for you can be mainstream for me ;) )

something like that fair enough for you?

Yeah that's what I want to avoid, since these types of games quickly become like that. How about a time limit of 3 or 4 days before refreshing?
