Quake III Arena is next week! Who's playing?
I might be able to jump on for a little bit before bed. My ping on Q3 tends to be kinda crappy though. I don't know if its because of the dial-up speeds or distance from the server.

I had the same problem. Here is the solution from the Netopia tutorial thread:
brourke228 wrote: There is an issue where Quake 3 Arena freezes when it is trying to retrieve the server list after connecting when the netopia is using my new router's (Linksys E3200) DNS relay. This hasn't been an issue with any other router I've used, but it is easily remedied by setting your ISP's DNS servers in the Netopia IP Setup instead of using your router's IP address or "0.0.0.0". If you experience anything similar, just set your DNS servers manually in the Netopia IP setup instead of using your router's DNS relay.

I'll give it a try but seems weird that this would happen all of a sudden. I'm still using the same router i had before and it worked.

*EDIT*

Success !!! i just threw in googles public DNS 8.8.8.8 and it worked !! Huzzah !!!
