Codebreaker question *UPDATE*

Post by goodluck »

Hey all,
I've never used a codebreaker disc before, and wanting to hack one of my favorite games (sonic adventure 2) I finally get around to buying a codebreaker disc. Finally receive it in the mail, boot it up, go to the cheat menu, scroll down, and BAM! no Sonic Adventure 2. They have *sonic adventure* but not the sequel. So I start to panic a bit, codebreakers aren't very cheap, and I'm thinking I just wasted a bit of money. Some research turned up the fact that apparently you can add games to the games list, and this seems pretty reasonable. Trouble is, I can't figure out how to do it. I tried copying a game, editing the name to sonic adventure 2, deleting the codes for it, and adding SA2 codes, but it won't save it. Can anyone help me?
Any help would be really appreciated.

*UPDATE*
I figured out how to add games. It was so simple that I face palmed. You just press X, I have no idea how I missed that my first try. But now I have another problem, I enter codes for SA2, save them, start up SA2 by swapping discs, but nothing happened except for my memory card getting corrupted and needing to be reformatted. (my saves! Noooo!) Does codebreaker require a whole memory card for itself or something? Anyone know?

Newer games, such as PSOv2 and possibly SA2, were designed to detect and inhibit CB usage, so they can cause your codesaves and gamesaves to get corrupted. To be safe, you need to use a separate VMU for codesaves and only have it connected while using the CB. Unplug it when you're ready to start the game, so the game won't scan your connected VMUs and detect a codesave. PSOv2, for example, will prevent rares from dropping if a codesave is present on any connected VMUs.
