Weird crash!

Post by Daleeni »

Hello everyone! (i'm new here, if an introduction is needed i will do it :) )
(also i'm French so forgive my english :D )

Ok i'm pretty desperate... my dear DC has issues and i don't know how/where to look for help. So here i am!
I decided to plug my DC a couple of days ago, to play my first love of a game Skies of Arcadia. So far, no problems. I already had the wild reset issue a couple of years ago that i managed to fix, it didn't happen anymore. Now however, something new appeared: after playing for 10-15 minutes, if a random battle appears (screen shatters, goes black and the battle scene starts) or if i open a menu (screen goes black as well and the menu appears)... it just stays black and the music keeps playing behind.
I'm playing on an LCD tv, but i had no issues on the one i played on before.

Can it be the cable? Dust? Lens? Chuck Norris? (please not this one)

Thanks if you can help me!

First I would play another game for about 30mins and see if it does the samething, if not could be the game disc maybe disc rot has gotten to it. You can clean your lens I would suggest that plastix car polish stuff mentioned in another post here works great on the lens just put a little on a cuetip and rub it off with a cuetip or two until lens is clean. I have a copy of Daytona that does this exact thing and its the ONLY game I have that does it and I think its the game disc itself because I have one of the newer Sega Sports systems and runs every game I have other then that just fine.

Yeah i was suspecting the copy, it crashes always when i go in a certain area in disk 2... When i used to play it years ago it wasn't with this CD so it might be the copy itself indeed!
Thanks for the tip, i'll try and report here!
