having a BRUTAL time getting connected

Post by amp3d »

Hey guys,
Just wanted to say love the site I think it's great!

I'm an oldschool PSO player and just found out about the hacked servers. So I dusted off the dreamcast in the closet and brought it out in attempt to join your servers.

Basically, I have had non-stop problems.
I own PSO v1, and a broadband adaptor. Back in the Sega server days, I had no problem connecting via Broadband so I thought I could figure this out.

I originally tried using planetweb 3.0 disc to try to get the IP settings correct, and I cannot get any online activity to work at all. I am connecting through a dlink router using DCHP.

Then I thought i would go the route of your tutorials based on the info on this site. I downloaded the modified PSOv2 PAL from your site with the quick connect option, but when I run that it keeps asking for a serial number. It wont accept the serial number that is included within the NFO file that is packed with the image.

I'm most frusterated now, I've been trying for 2 days. Hopefully someone can point me in the proper direct to get online :(

Thanks very much for your help!

PS- I'm in no way computer illiterate, so at least I have that going for me :)

Well, i used chankast emulator and i used dc-talk game disk to play on the computer, the game asks at the emulator the SNAK every single time, both my US SNAK and the SNAK provided with the game didn't work, but when i used my original game SNAK it did work.

Unfortunatly i don't know what to to in your situation exept to input the same SNAK you had before when you played pso ver.2.

ahhh, well just to clarify I never actually owned a legit PSOv2, I do however have a legit PSO v1 NTSC and would be happy enough just playing that!

Any other suggestions?
