Hello all. Been ages since I played PSO online but I recently got some of my Dreamcast stuff together and hooked up. But I have run into a problem playing PSOv2 online.
I can play the game online no problem, but if I do anything with download quests the game will freeze or crash. This happens if I try and download a quest from the server menu or hunters guild. I've talked with Ives about it a bit and he thinks its a network problem. For the life of me I can't figure it out how to fix it.
Here is some info of my setup.
I am using Ives Enhanced Pack PSOv2 disc.
I am playing on a Japanese Dreamcast.
I am connecting via BBA. I have tried this through my router, then directly connected to the modem, and even ICS.
I re-burned the disc to check that it wasn't just a bad burn.
Unfortunately I don't have an official copy of the game with me, as those are all packed away in the states.
Anyone have any idea whats going on, or any suggest on what I should do?

Re: PSO Online Quest Crash
That sounds like it might potentially be disc reading troubles... Try cleaning the laser on the Dreamcast with a Q-Tip and some (preferably high-purity) rubbing alcohol.
If that doesn't work, we can try to arrange a time for me to try to watch the packets as the server communicates with you to make sure that it at least looks like it is working properly from the server side.

Re: PSO Online Quest Crash
It isn't the disc, as he can play the offline quests. He can't initiate the quest downloading procedure when online, so perhaps his strange Internet setup doesn't like whatever type of packets are involved with that (or maybe doesn't like the way Sylverant tries to throw the quest at you in one burst without any throttling). The only other person with a similar problem was MikeStutz, and he never reported whether he got it fixed.
