Seaman microphone

Post by Gionzn »

Hello everyone, I recently bought a used dreamcast and I'm thinking about trying Seaman because I've always been kind of curios about it. I found a pretty good deal for just the vmu thing required to play it but before buying it I need to know if the vmu with the jack connected to a standard microphone will do the trick or if the dreamcast microphone itself (the green small one) is a piece of equipment required to play the game. I'm asking this because the disc alone is cheaper than the entire box thing so if i can get my hands on just the vmu i might be able to save some money. Does anyone know if this would work or if I actually have to buy the whole thing?
Thanks

Well, the DC mic is a Tip/Sleeve mono mic with a 3.5mm plug. I do not know if that helps. If I were to "guess", then I would go with Tip as "+" and Sleeve as common/ground.

I don't know…I would just buy the entire microphone to play it safe.

On a side note, I want to play Seaman so bad right now.

'Cuz I'm weird.

You don't play Seaman, you experience it...

lol

Anyways, thanks for the answers guys. I was kinda hoping someone who owns the copy of the game and had a standard pc microphone could try it for me but I guess I'm out of luck. When I make up my mind and decide to buy the whole thing I will let you guys know if this can be done or not in case someone else is asking in the future.
