Hello Dreamcast talk!! Trevligt att träffas

Post by sverige-warrior »

Hello Dreamcast community,

My name is Rob and I have been reading the forums and watching Youtube about dreamcast for sometime.

I recently got my dreamcast as in 2013 and it was the first time I had played the system.

I started out with Iso's to play but now only play retail games. I have built a sizable collection of 78 games as of this writing including many of the independent releases.

my top 5 games are in no order:
Sonic Adventure
Shenmue
Sturmwind
Zero Gunner 2
Blue Stinger

I have been inspired by the community to continue my love for this system which has become my number 1 hobby. I eventually want to get on youtube like vampire mike and do informative videos on the games and hardware, less such as reviews and more so comparing games to there imports english friendliness to certain games and functions of different controller types to certain games ect, mostly for fun but if it informs people in certain games thats a win win.

I look forward to communicating with others who share my love of the SEGA DREAMCAST

Hit me up guys

Nice to have you here, Robert! Welcome to DC-Talk!

Since you told your DC story, I'll tell mine (the first and third paragraphs are actually from another one of my posts, just copy-pasted):

I've actually wanted a Dreamcast since early 2014, but didn't buy one until August of 2014. My Dreamcast came with Spirit of Speed 1937 thrown in with it (avoid it as much as you can, BTW), but I also got Star Wars: Episode 1: Racer because I kinda knew SOS was bad.

After that, around September, I picked up Monaco Grand Prix for $4. I didn't like it at first because the controls were really stiff, but maybe it was just because I sucked at it. I eventually grew to like the game as I got better.

4 months passed, and by the time Christmas rolled by, I got a surprise gift: Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi! I was asking for Sonic Adventure (only thing on my list), so it was a very nice gift. I played the heck out of that and Crazy Taxi. Good memories...I still have those 2 games today! I also have the Star Wars game, but it gets stuck at the first loading screen. :(

Oh, and the Monaco Grand Prix disc cracked.

P.S. I got an unopened Sega Genesis Model 2 for $25. Steal!

I opened it up 'cuz I wanted to play it, not keep it in a box for all eternity. That's what you're supposed to do with video games. Play them!

Glad to hear you discovered and enjoy the Dreamcast... ^^

Personally I've been playing a lot of 32X through my Mega Everdrive lately. Another 'console' with some really awesome arcade ports. Space Harrier, After Burner, Virtua Fighter...

Too bad it lasted even shorter -that sounds weird- than the Dreamcast though...
