When I was cleaning out my retro gaming closet recently I looked around online to see what I could sell it for. It seemed like not enough money to bother with trying to sell it so I throw some of it away and gave away the rest (kept my Dreamcast though). I was not happy with doing either buy it's just too hard and too expensive to get the old consoles to work decently with modern TV's/Monitors. I can't hang onto this stuff forever unfortunately..... :(

Depends on what you are looking for. When it comes to vintage nintendo games it is insanity the prices that people are asking for their stuff. This goes for retail shops, online markets, swap meets & flea markets, garage sales, and thrift stores. There is no standard to go by for pricing so people always assume what they have is valuable. 99% of the time what they have is common mass-produced nintendo stuff.

It is not just the nintendo stuff that suffers from the price gouging though. Almost all retro gaming stuff is suffering from price gouging sellers.

There is always a way to connect older video game consoles to modern televisions. Connect through rf signal and in some cases the consoles work via composite video. It all depends on the console and your television as to what your options are. It is best to use higher quality SCART RGB, s-video, or component if the option is available. But, this option can set you back some cash depending on what region television you have i.e PAL, NTSC. Also depending on whether or not you need special cables or converter boxes.

Here are more videos that relate to the subject of current retro game pricing.
Keep in mind I can post many examples about retro game prices being incredibly absurd.

The follow up NES 001...

I'm having a hard time with this now. As a few of you know I had a storage unit broken into and looted. The bulk of my collection was taken. To include about half (50) of my NES games and two consoles, my entire N64 collection including a purple console and 31 games. My entire Genesis/CD/32x collection of over 130 games and my entire SNES collection one console and around 20 games. Plus there were around 20ish Gameboy games and a few game gear games with cases. A brand new sealed super Gameboy, 2 brand new sealed wave bird controllers. Plus another box of loose cords, controllers, and a broken Turbo Grafx 16.

I decided I would rebuild the collection and started pricing stuff.

Needless to say I'm a little torqued about it. The examples I think of are Any Mega Man games, sonic 3, castlevania (specifically Bloodlines! $65.00 WTF) and Kolibri. Gunstar Heroes to. I estimated I had about 700 bucks worth of shit taken. After looking up some of these I was shocked when I realized to rebuild the collection to a quarter of what it was might take more than that.

Mario 64 is 20 bucks! Incomplete! With a label that looks like a badger chewed on it.

Anywho I'm sad. Just thought I'd share. On the opposite side id have unloaded half that stuff anyway. I'm not a huge collector. I'm more of a play the shit out of it kinda guy. If I don't play it I won't keep it.

Also the Wii is a BA system. No More Heroes 1&2, MK Armagedon, Madworld, New Super Mario Bros. There were a lot of good games put out on that system and I think it will take off for collectors like the DC did just because of it's weird niche and how easy it is to get home brew on.
Currently sucking at: The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Road Rash II and Pirates! Gold

Searching for EGG, SFA3, and ANY GENESIS/CD/32X games.

I have a local flea market that was selling the Mario 64 cartridge (and nothing else) for $30.

You do make a point. I've never really paid for an overpriced video game/console that much. The only 2 times I can think of me in that situation is buying a DS game for $40 and my Sega Dreamcast for $105 ($80 for console, $15 for VMU, $10 for a game).

Damn Hud. Just damn. Huge fan of your italics usage there. I got your point and heard the emphasis in my brain as I was reading.

On the up and up deals can still be had if you watch like a hawk! I got WCW/nWo Revenge for the N64 for a whopping $4.95 shipped!

Thanks for the compliment. I tend to look for good deals for games. 'Cuz it's smart shopping!
