Whoops! My mistake haha! What series should I have used as an example instead? I remember watching such things as a kid but knowledge of origins isn't my area of expertise! Also, thanks for reading :P

DCGX wrote:For those that haven't heard, the regular and limited editions of Ghost Blade were officially released yesterday. Notice I only said regular and limited editions. Those of us, myself included, that preordered the collectors/supporter edition of Ghost Blade will have to wait until at least November. Rene says this is because the guy recording the playthrough for the Super Play DVD can't record it yet. Of course he waits until the release to say anything.

So the people that preordered first are the last to receive their preorders.

I emailed Rene (a continuation actually from an email exchange two years ago) to confirm my preorder for the CE version. Two years ago my order was listed as the LE version, which cost less than what I paid. I inquired, and after some backwards math of explain the price from Rene, I said I wanted to cancel my order. He then assured me I preordered the collectors/supporter edition and it was a glitch in their ordering system.
I had the same thing, ordered the collectors / supporters edition, but the backend of the shop shows the "limited edition" (but when you look closely to the part-no you'll notice that it's actually the CE; HUC0007-GA-GhostBladeCE.

It is very disappointing that we early supporters of the game are getting the game later then everyone who ordered the normal copy afterwards. Also the lack of demo disc which was promised, leaves a bad taste. I'm a big fan of Rene's \ Hucast work, and will keep on continuing supporting it's projects. But in all fairness, but the way we customers are being treated is not very nice.

I got my regular edition today. The game plays very nicely with only some minor slowdown. 2 gripes though 1) it's quite hard to see bullets at times, although that may be my fault 2) I can't seem to figure out how to access the Caravan mode :(

But other than those things, it looks and plays great and the music is ace. The backgrounds aren't as jaw dropping as Sturmwind but let's be honest, we new they wouldn't be.

Online ranking would've been nice too.

You mean just as he didn't say those "awesome hd visuals" for Redux were a PC build until users demanded that to be specified, or that the DC version was 240p until people got their copies? Yup, that's what I thought.

I preordered Ghost Blade LE a couple years ago too. I really liked the looks but, again, I knew that was NOT a DC build, and the whole Dux/Redux thing had gotten on my nerves. When Chui told me he was onboard to port that build to the DC, then I felt everything would be all right with the coding and all, so I'm confident the game works/plays fine (I haven't received my copy yet though).

As far as I know, those minor slowdowns people are talking about were completely unavoidable due to the original game design and Rene's number-of-sprites-on-screen requirements.

Well I asked on the Hucast page and apparently the Caravan mode didn't make the final game :(

As far as I'm aware they never announced this...?
