Welp, I got a VGA to HDMI adapter the other day. Here is what it looks like.
I hooked my VGA box into the converter. It works. However, it looks like crap on my TV. Here are some screenshots. These are unedited and are exactly what is shown on my TV.
And this looks worse! xD
It appears that the brightness goes all over the place and most of the time gives me a color tint. Tried adjusting my TV's settings an it still looks bad. It's not the VGA box nor cord as I tried it on my PC monitor (without the VGA to HDMI converter, of course). Its not the HDMI cable either as I tried using a different cable with the same results. It can't be the box.
Can anyone help? I tried emailing Sabrent but they won't help me. :/
EDIT: Just tried it on a different TV. Same thing. The Date/Time menu looks like crap too. Everything that's supposed to be black looks brown.

Re: VGA to HDMI HELP
It's most likely the build quality of your video upscaler. The general rule with upscalers is if it's MSRP price is lower than $70 USD then stay far away from it as it might be crap.

Alright. Amazon still marks it as shipped even though it's delivered so I can't refund it yet. What do you guys prefer and/or use?

Re: VGA to HDMI HELP
I keep on seeing some kind of generic no name black metal box every so often that does the same thing which I heard nothing but goof things about it. If i'm not mistaken it doesn't convert vga to hdmi but to YPbPr component.

Re: VGA to HDMI HELP
Does nothing. However, I can connect it fine without the converter on both my PC monitor and my TV.krssn wrote:Connect your PC to it and see what that does...
I have a laptop so in this case "PC Monitor" is a Dell monitor.
I'd rather not use component as my capture device's component adapter is the worst adapter I've ever had in my life. It's a pain to get signal, the colors, and even the sound. And if I got the sound, it would be in mono.scaryred24 wrote:If i'm not mistaken it doesn't convert vga to hdmi but to YPbPr component.
Thats why I want to use HDMI instead.

Re: VGA to HDMI HELP
Has anyone tried something like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0177V1X ... J9JIF&vs=1? I'm not looking to up convert necessarily, just connect to a TV with a VGA input.
