I voted for lightgun shooter.
But IMHO, you should make the game YOU want to make - only then you can pour your heart into it, and people will feel it.
Another thing i'd like to see is something Diablo-like or any other rogue-like (think Nethack ) game. I've tried playing Record of Lodoss War, but it didn't really grow on me :/

I agree with this. iv worked on quite a few things for other peoples projects in the past and I really liked their ideas. but I always felt discouraged because it wasn't the game I wanted to be making.
however... when you're working on old tech sometimes you might also realize that what you want to make and what you can make sometimes just wont work together.
