Re: Pier solar help
The same thing happened to me (with all games, not just a specific one). I don't know if your distress is caused by the same thing, of course, but this might help:
If you open up your Dreamcast, you should see a sort of arc-shaped part protruding from the lid. When the lid is closed, it's supposed to push against a tiny lever. But sometimes in old Dreamcasts, it misses the mark, or doesn't push the lever quite far enough. I fixed it by gluing a piece of plastic (cut from an old bank card) to the end of the "pusher". Now it always hits the lever and pushes it just half a millimeter or so further, and the problem is gone.
Good luck!

Re: Pier solar help
Try this. Put in a disc that you know will load, be it a gdrom or cdr. Load the game to the title screen/menu. Open the dreamcast. Power it off and take out the disc. Now insert pier solar, close the lid and power the console back on.
This is currently the only way I can get the Ghost blade to load. I think the cd drive gets kicked into action or something. It may be a laser recalibration issue.
I'm taking my dc to a repair place in January to have it serviced and the laser recalibrated.

Re: Pier solar help
I was doing a bit more research and some people were saying that the last gen/ revision 2 dreamcast can't read mil cd's which is the format that let's you pirate/make your own games. So I think this may be my issue. But I will try these suggestions.

Re: Pier solar help
Look at the bottom of your Dreamcast, on the lower right corner of the silver sticker will be a rectangle that contains your region (PAL Europe, NTSC-J, NTSC-U) and to the left of the rectangle will be a circle with a number, representing the revision.tsquad wrote:I was doing a bit more research and some people were saying that the last gen/ revision 2 dreamcast can't read mil cd's which is the format that let's you pirate/make your own games. If there's a 2 in that circle it's a revision 2 which quite certainly won't be able to read MIL-CDs.
