Dreamcast Mice

Post by DR TEAMCAST »

I had one OEM Dreamcast ball mouse, then I had an issue where in game like quake moving the mouse to the left would not work unless I picked up the mouse and set it down. Or forcefully moved it to the left

Then I get a second mouse, it was brand new. And for a little while it worked great. But I'm having the same issue where moving it left does not respond very well

Is there some kind of cleaning method to get these working like new again? Or do these just wear out quickly?

Has anyone tried the mini japanese ball mice? Are they more responsive than the US regular sized mouse? I'd get one of those "total control" PS/2 mouse adapter and a laser mouse. But imo I like to keep everything OEM

I had a similar issue with my PAL DC mouse.

Open it up and inside you will see the two black plastic rods and a small wheel, the ball rolls against them. Make sure they are clean and have nothing stuck to them.

This solved my problems.

Also having a proper ball mousepad helps too, id been using a smooth laser mouse pad up until recently, not recommended.
