Hey all, I have a bit of a problem.
I just got a dreamcast (NTSC-J) and I live in Australia and the power runs at 240v. I know that the voltage in japan is 110v, but the previous owner said that he changed it. Is there any sort of identification on the PSU which could tell me what voltages it can take?
Dreamcast PSU?

Sorry dude, my only suggestion would be to turn your console and see if something gets on fire o.ocrackmaster5 wrote:Hey all, I have a bit of a problem.

Hum, but I think Dreamcast source accepts a range of voltages, like most electronic devices nowadays. But I'm not sure, sorry.

Re: Dreamcast PSU?
i don't see anything on a spare one i have to indicate it being 110. i know it is but nothing on it says that it is. wouldn't the coil be larger on a 240v power supply? i can upload some pictures of this one if you want me to? idk if it will help you though!

Re: Dreamcast PSU?
hmm, you know that little yellow box just next to the external connector? Does yours read 40/100/21/250v~? Cause that might be a voltage indicator but I'm not sure.

Re: Dreamcast PSU?
i don't see any yellow box on mine. i opened up a 2nt DC and that one did not have a yellow box either. i uploaded a low res picture of one of my PSU's so that you might be able to point out what your talking about. if you want you can download it and circle it then re-upload it. i looked a lot of the parts on it. the only voltage i see listed is 275v it is written on the small black thing behind the copper coil.

Re: Dreamcast PSU?
Sometimes you can buy voltage converters i think. try somewhere like Tandy or Dick smith. and should also change the Japanese plugs to Australian.
