Hmmm, I honestly have no idea why you would get that error. The master server is still running at the same address it was back in the day so no special settings are even required for it. Wish I could suggest something but I'm at a loss.

I am connected but I also have the "error contacting master server" message on my screen as well. I've had this for years now.

I dont have my DC DMZ'd.. but my understanding was that it works out of the box so to speak..

Im on with max pool no problem.. and just was on the 2.0 browser to DL the save for it..

Im not sophisticated enough at this stuff to figure out why it wont work for evo... :|

edit to add-

just tried it with the DC DMZ'd.. same as before...

This is what I am getting. There is an option, but we need a little help on this one. After it is all done with the master server connection failures, there is four options. The "Continue Anyway" option allows you to enter an IP address (with port). Once you select this, there is a "Host" option and a "Direct IP" option. If someone is hosting, this might be the only other option.

ImageThis is about as far as I can get. It won't let in into any chat rooms.

Edit: To clarify, I can create a game but cannot access the chat rooms.

I get this far...

I highlighted the option that leads you to either Host or Direct IP options.

So, hopefully the Direct IP option works. Question is, what is that IP address? To note, I believe once someone successfully connects and "hosts" a game, they can post their IP addy for others to connect to it. If anyone wants to try this, PM me and I will see if I can host a game being I can get that far.
