Virtual Machine Pi

Post by FordMondeoMan »

As the title says I have had a bit of a brain storm might not work but would it be possible to put raspberry pi os on a windows virtual machine?

Then load the dream Pi image and use the PC has the internet connection. Is this possible at all or is it a rubbish idea?

Cheers guys

You can run the DreamPi script in any Linux distribution. The GameSpy and VoIP fixes, however, are compiled for ARM Linux. Basically what you're doing is called a "PC-DC Server."

Well, you CAN possibly setup QEmu for ARM, run Raspbian and use the DreamPi script. If that didn't take a week or two to get it working right, you'd have to setup all of the DNS entries from scratch and everything else after

Not sure why you'd want to do that. You can probably pull it off, but it'd be a massive headache and you'd need to really know what you're doing

Also QEmu is only supposed to work for Linux in the first place, it can run on Windows but that's a whole different headache within a headache
