Best version of PSO V2?

Hello everyone. Just got my dreampi working and looking forward to becoming an active member of this amazing community. Last night I was able to get PSO online and played for the first time in 15ish years.

So I still have my original PSO v1 character (and original PSO v1 copy) from playing back in the day and I would like to continue using it. I'm close to level 100 and know that I will have to migrate my character to V2 soon.

I've seen some different copies of V2 floating around and am not sure which one is most current and most stable? Should I buy a factory copy of V2 and use a patch disk for the best experience? It seems like most downloadable copies are 4+ years old and talk about frequent freezing. I'm willing to deal with this on other games, but would like the best dreamcast PSO experience possible.

Also knowing that once I migrate my character to V2 I will never be able to go back to V1 makes it even more critical.

Ives optimized version with the server patch is what I use. Loads really fast

Yes ives made bugfree version of pso v2 with auto connect and faster loading times.

Do note that you can continue to play V1 if you make a new character on V1. You just can't use a V2 character on V1 anymore.

First of all thanks everyone for the replys!

Since I'm new to this forum, I don't know if linking an isozone page is ok. There is a version there called "Phantasy Star Online Ver.2 (Enhancement Pack, Auto-connect, Offline Map Pack)" But even in the description, he says there are known bugs and freezes. Maybe I'm thinking too much into this, just want to get the best PSO experience I can.

Strik3r91. Can you direct me to where I can find this version?

Should I try to backup my current character before migrating to V2? Is there any risk that my character will be corrupted using a non-factory version of the game?

I think I got mine off of the sylverant server Web page. Ives could probably link it.

The torrent is here. If you made your character with USv1, you can use this disc to convert it to V2. You'll still want to get a GD-ROM of USv2 in the original case so that you have genuine serials to use for registration, though.

I just snagged a factory sealed copy of V2 off ebay, so I will have fresh codes soon. Also am currently downloading the suggested torrent.

Are you the "Ives" that is included in the "Ives" versions of these PSO updates? If so, thanks for everything you do in keeping this community alive.

Also, I see in that torrent there are three versions. There is one V1 and two V2's. Can you comment on the differences between the two versions of V2? One has a "EP" at the end. What does that mean?
