Re: Chinese Dreamcast SD Adapters for sale
I do not trust it. It more than likely is real, but no pay-pal, no real track record of a "shopping" stop.
Caution is advised.
If anyone has already bought this, please post.

Yeah...I'd rather have PayPal as an option too...

Buyfromtaobao.com has paypal, so in the event of getting ripped off, you can probably get your money back - paypal tend to favour the customer, even outside of eBay. Payday on Friday, I might have to thrwo down $10 for one of theseBob Dobbs wrote:I do not trust it. It more than likely is real, but no pay-pal, no real track record of a "shopping" stop.

Yeah, apparently PayPal is an option.
I gave it a shot.
We'll see how it goes.

Re: Chinese Dreamcast SD Adapters for sale
Hi everyone.
I just bought two of these and they arrived today. The guy who makes these is doing it in his house out in the countryside, so even within the country the shipping is kind of expensive.
It's definitely a hacksaw + soldering iron + hot glue job, but it looks sturdy enough. Beats doing it yourself unless you're really into that sort of thing.
Unfortunately, I cannot test it because I made a big mistake: I forgot to add 5 yuan for the CD. The CD is not included in the price, and unless you specifically talk to the seller and arrange to pay an extra 5 yuan you will not get one. Since it's optional, that leads me to guess he probably just stuck some existing SD loader on a mini CD-ROM.
I'm not sure then whether that means the boot CD is considered a commercial product. If not, does anyone who has it feel like sharing a copy? Or does anyone know how to make a CD image out of the SD card reader made by these guys in Russia? (Google Translate fails hard)
I kind of feel stupid contacting him to spend 22 yuan to have a 5 yuan CD shipped to my house ... Granted it's an order of magnitude less than what you guys are spending.
I thought it was worth mentioning this note about the CD. Hopefully those of you who placed orders already either remembered to pay the extra cash or don't need the disc.

Easy as a piece of cake
Download DreamShell 4.0 Beta 4 (CDI Image) from:
http://www.dc-swat.ru/page/dreamshell/
Burn it with Alcohol 120%, or Padus Diskjuggler. Then it's just plug&prey (^^).

You boot Dreamshell, click on File Manager, then SD, and then click on the file you want on your sd card.
D--, would you mind posting us some pixs?
Keep dreaming.
