You can't do it from the site at the moment, only from within the game. Use the /friendadd command to do so. An example is as follows:

Code: Select all

/friendadd 10035 kireek
The server will notify you whenever anyone on your friendlist is online. If you get a real PSOv2 key (non-shared), you should register that online with your account. I do not want people registering shared serials with the account registration page. You do not need to have an account on the website to use the friendlist (the server will happily send you messages when your friends are online and all), but you do need it to view your friendlist from the website.
Also, I am using a shared serial/key that I found online, is there a disadvantage to this? I wanted to buy a PAL copy of the game but it's hard to find.
Well, due to the way that I wrote the server, it shouldn't be a problem. Granted, I don't support any problems that may happen because of using the same serial/access key as anyone else. Also, I don't support them being registered to accounts on the website. That's not to say you can't, but I reserve the right (as it says on the registration page) to ban anyone who does, so please don't register your shared serial with the website. I don't really mind you using it to play online (even though I'm 100% against piracy), since I realize that such a hard-lined stance would only serve to push people away.

Also note that pirated versions have various bugs that you wouldn't see with a real GD-ROM copy of the game. Fair warning.

Great, thanks for the reply. I don't usually "pirate" the games but I downloaded the one from this site to try it out. I wanted to make sure I could actually get online before purchasing it. Although now I see you need a PAL version if you want to play online. Since you say it's fine to use the shared key I'll probably buy an NTSC copy (Lot easier to find) just so I own it.

Note that the US version of PSOv1 will work just fine. Its just for v2 that you need the PAL version. While v1 is a bit more limited in what it can do than v2, its still quite fun to play (I pretty much only ever played v1 on the Sega servers -- didn't want to pay the monthly fee for v2  ).

Hmm, didn't know that. I'll probably just stick with v.2 though. Why buy the more limited version, right? Anyway, don't want to lose my now level 10 character, Teal'c (Character from Stargate SG-1 if you didn't know) :-)
